Junior Tennis Camp – Royal Russell School

Experience a 3-day Junior Tennis Camp featuring our Jamie Murray Tennis Programme

Join us for our brand-new Junior Tennis Camp (non-residential), hosted at the fantastic Royal Russell School on the outskirts of London.

We’ve chosen Royal Russell School for its exceptional sporting facilities. As a leading Independent Day and Boarding School, it’s the ideal location for us to host our Junior Camps.

Over the past two years, we’ve been working with Jamie Murray to create a Junior Tennis Programme that keeps children engaged, challenged, and constantly improving. While three days might not seem like a long time, we’re confident that with our expertise, your child will be playing at a whole new level by the end of Day 3.

Our camps are open to children aged 6-17, and targeted at Improver – County Standard players. Regardless of their level – they’ll leave with new skills, new friends, and a great big smile.

Your Trip

Itinerary

We’ve been creating the perfect itinerary since 2006. Explore what you’ll get up-to below.
Please note our itineraries are subject to change.

Today is all about fun, building confidence, and introducing core tennis concepts like the athletic ready position, stroke consistency, and basic serve and return. Designed with Jamie Murray, these sessions are interactive, supportive, and engaging.

08:45 – 09:15 AM | Meet & Registration
On arrival, children will be welcomed by our friendly coaching team and guided to their designated age groups. This is also the perfect time for parents to ask any last-minute questions and for children to settle in before the fun begins.

09:15 – 09:30 | Physical Warm-Up
Activities include ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees, Cone’, ‘Numbers Game’ and ‘React and Go’ – all designed to improve reaction times, footwork, and listening skills. A fun and energetic start to the day!

09:30 – 09:45 | Racket Warm-Up
‘Tap Up Tennis’, ‘Bluff’, and ‘Rally and Go’ encourage players to find rhythm, balance, and racket control. Emphasis is on creating a consistent contact point and breathing through the shot to reduce tension.

09:45 – 11:15 | Stroke Development
Sessions include ‘Hit and Move’, ‘Rally Challenge’, and ‘Deep, Middle, Short’. Players learn to control shot depth, direction, and rally under pressure. Focus is on planning, recovery, and consistent shot-making.

11:15 – 11:45 | Introduction to Points – Champs & Challengers
‘Hustle Wide’ games bring tactical awareness and fitness together. Players react quickly to positional feeds and then compete in live points. Great for building competitive instincts in a fun environment.

11:45 – 12:45 | Lunch
A chance to recharge with a packed lunch in a shaded rest area. Children will eat with their age groups under the supervision of our team, with relaxed social time and optional calm activities to reset for the afternoon.
The tennis courts are available during this time for free play.

12:45 – 13:45 | Let’s Get Moving
A series of cooperative and competitive activities such as ‘Rally & Touch’, ‘Rally & Swap’, and ‘Feed and Go’. These games build teamwork, consistency, and movement awareness.

13:45 – 14:45 | Serve and Return
Fun drills like ‘Serve and Move’, ‘Serve and Play’, and ‘Serve and Switch’ help players build serving technique and improve return reaction. A great foundation for match play.

14:45 – 15:15 | Games
The day ends with ‘Waves’ and ‘Tennis Cricket’ – high-energy, team-based games to finish with lots of laughs and excitement. A great way to reflect on the day’s learning in a relaxed environment.

15:15 – 15:30 | Collection & Stretch
A calm end to a busy day. Children wind down with a short yoga session, guided mindfulness and time to reflect on what they’ve enjoyed and achieved. Parents are welcome to collect any time during this window.
Please note, any collection after 15:30 will incur a late collection fee.

Today’s focus is on volleying, match situations, and improving doubles awareness. Players are challenged to apply what they’ve learned through fun, structured competition and purposeful drills.
