Tennis Clinics Blog

Tennis clinics are an exciting way to get in some tennis practice and work on your skills. They can be found all over the place, and they are very affordable. Plus, they’re great for people of all levels of experience. Our Tennis Clinics Blog will give you an idea of what a Tennis Clinic involves and why they might be of interest to you.

Tennis clinics offer players of all ages the opportunity to improve their skills by working with a professional instructor in a group orientated environment. Tennis clinics are also a great way for beginners to get started in the sport because at the end of the day they are all about coming and improving your tennis game, having some fun, and socialising with other tennis enthusiasts. They typically last between one and two hours, and provide instruction on all aspects of tennis, from basic strokes to advanced techniques and drills depending on which clinic you join. Clinics are also a great way to meet other players to hit with in the future and of course, an amazing way to stay fit and healthy.

Tennis Clinics in London

With over 200 tennis clubs and 800 courts in London alone, almost every tennis club will run clinics for their members and for the public. These clinics offer instruction from top-level LTA qualified coaches and will help you work on your game in a comfortable and supportive environment. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, it makes no difference because most clubs will match you to a clinic where you will be amongst players of a similar level.

At Active Away, we run our London clinics at The Olympic Park Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre (Stratford) on their blue indoor hard courts and also at David Lloyd Milton Keynes’s fantastic facility (just outside of London). We also love to engage with new tennis clubs and have hosted many Active Away Open Days at local clubs in London and across the UK where club members can get on court with our coaches and experience a glimpse of what we deliver on Active Away Tennis Clinics all over the UK and Holidays across Europe.

Tennis Clinics for Adults

Tennis clinics for adults are a great way to get some exercise and have some fun. If you are interested in joining a tennis club, joining a clinic gives you a chance to find out more about the coaches, social aspects and meet new people. There are many players who have joined a Tennis Clinic for the first time and loved it so much that within months they are signed up to weekly clinics, getting involved with the social aspect of the tennis club and then playing team matches or starting to compete. As tennis lovers, we truly appreciate how great our sport is when we see or hear stories like this. For us at Active Away, we love the feeling when we have a new player join one of our Tennis Clinics and then follow up with us to book onto their next clinic or first Active Away Tennis Holiday.

At an Active Away Clinic, our experienced team of coaches lead doubles specific sessions to help our clients finish the day feeling like they have improved and come away with key strategies and tips. We pride our Tennis Clinics on working on different aspects of Tennis with drills a client may have never done before whilst socialising with new and old friends on and off the court.

Tennis Clinics for Children

Children of all ages love the sport of tennis. At the lower age clinics, softer balls are used to make it easier for the children to develop their skills in tennis, whilst also developing their social skills and making new friends. It is a great after school activity to keep them fit and healthy. The LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) has helped fund starting clinics for children at local tennis clubs and in schools because of the benefits they receive from playing tennis. As we are starting to learn in society, visual learning is becoming one of the most engaging ways for people to learn and tennis has the benefit of being a repetitive, visual learning sport that improves visual and auditory processing skills.

A great way to keep your children entertained during the school holidays is at a local clubs tennis camp. The majority of tennis clubs in the UK who have clinics for children, provide a camp during the week days of school holidays where the children are cared for whilst their parents are at work. The camps provide the children with more than just tennis, some incorporate other sports as well and others incorporate arts and crafts too.
