Active Away x British Summer School: A New Summer Tennis Partnership 🎾

We are excited to announce a brand new partnership between Active Away and British Summer School (BSS), bringing our tennis expertise to BSS’s premium residential programmes for international students aged 6–18.

From summer 2025, Active Away coaches will be delivering specialist tennis coaching across British Summer School’s courses, including a dedicated high-performance tennis and English programme at Oundle School, plus a Pro Option Tennis add-on available at four prestigious UK boarding schools.

Champion of the Future – Delivered in Partnership with Active Away

The flagship element of our partnership is the “Champion of the Future” course at Oundle School, a leading UK boarding school with outstanding sports facilities.

This intensive residential programme is designed for international students aged 12–17 who want to:

• Take their tennis performance to the next level
• Strengthen their English language skills
• Experience life at a traditional British boarding school

Throughout the programme, students will:

• Develop technical tennis skills through structured coaching sessions
• Improve English in the classroom and through sports-focused learning
• Explore key topics such as conditioning, nutrition and injury prevention
• Build confidence, independence and resilience in a supportive environment

With expert coaching from the Active Away team, excellent facilities, full-board accommodation, evening activities and weekly excursions, this course offers a balanced residential experience that supports athletic, academic and personal development.

Lessons – 28¾ hours per week, including:

• Core English
• Sports Science
• Technical Tennis Training

Life at Oundle School

Accommodation

Students stay in Oundle School’s traditional boarding houses, which offer a safe, comfortable and authentic boarding school experience. Rooms typically accommodate between 1 and 6 students, allowing for a friendly, community-focused atmosphere.

Pro Option Tennis is perfect for students who are primarily joining BSS for English language learning, but still want to improve their tennis with focused, high-quality coaching.
