Itinerary

Our Doubles Tennis Clinics are perfect for anyone wanting to improve their Doubles. We’ve curated a fun packed 5 hours of fast paced coaching to make you a more confident and competent Doubles player.
Please note our itineraries are all subject to change.

Your host & team of coaches will be waiting for you in the club reception. Please feel free to arrive earlier if you’d like to join them for a coffee.

Saturday

We start the day with a fun physical warm up (nothing too strenuous) and then get stuck into hitting some balls. Take this opportunity to meet your fellow players and find your rhythm on court.

Sunday

Sunday starts in a similar vain to the Saturday, with a light physical warm up, followed by a racket warm up. The warm up is similar, but today we talk about incorporating more movement.

Note
The coaches will be assessing your playing level, we try to ensure everyone has an opportunity to ‘Play Up’ & ‘Play Down.’ Please speak to your host if you feel you are being over/under challenged at any point. We operate on a 1 Coach: 6 Players: 1 Court basis.

There will be no more than 1 coach to 6 players per court. Groups will be rotated and you will have opportunities to ‘Play Up’ & ‘Play Down.’ Please speak to your host if you feel you are being over/under challenged at any point.

Saturday

In this session we will be focusing on your setup, timing, and rhythm with three simple teaching points to boost your consistency. By mastering these fundamentals, you’ll enhance your overall performance on court.

Sunday

30 minutes of Rally Skills, looking at how good your rally quality is from the back of the court and some effective tips on how we can dominate from the back with an excellent contact point.

Saturday

Our most frequently asked question, “How do I become more consistent?” Here’s your answer. In this session we will look to improve your spacing from the ball when rallying from the baseline, ensuring more precise and controlled shots.

Sunday

Here we essentially teach you your job in doubles and how to avoid your opponent’s territory while dominating your own. We’ll get you playing some high quality doubles in no time!

Saturday

Refine your groundstrokes with three essential technical tips. While three may sound minimal, these teaching points are key to significantly improving your consistency and precision during play.

Sunday

Curious about the difference between poaching and intercepting? In this masterclass, we’ll break down each technique and show you how to effectively incorporate them into your doubles game.

Saturday

Ever wondered about that quirky formation tennis professionals use on TV? It’s called the I formation, and for the first 10 minutes of this session we will demonstrate how you can effectively use it at club level. You will then have 35 minutes to implement this to elevate your doubles game, coordination and essentially dominate the net!

Sunday

Master the art of effective poaching: understand the strategic timing, positioning, and execution that make it a game-changing tactic in doubles play. Explore how to anticipate opportunities and disrupt your opponents’ strategy with well-timed poaches.

It’s lunch time! The cafe has a fantastic selection of deli food which caters for all dietary requirements.

Time to get back on court! Warm yourself up ready for a bustling afternoon.

Saturday

Mastering control over your serves and returns is crucial in doubles. In this session you will learn how to dictate play with precision and strategic placement to gain a competitive edge on the court.

Sunday

Ever wondered about the hand signals your net player uses, which you may or may not pretend to understand? Look no further! In this session, we’ll teach you the key signals for effective poaching. Recognising these cues will help you anticipate your opponent’s moves and execute precise poaches to gain the upper hand in doubles play.

Saturday

The chip lob allows players to surprise opponents with its deceptive flight and placement. We want you to learn this versatile tennis shot, offering you a strategic option to vary your game.

Sunday

Learn the art of enticing your opponent to hit down your line. Master this strategic manoeuvre to control the pace of the game and create openings for decisive plays on the court.

Saturday

Who doesn’t want a clean, crisp return that pushes your opponent off the court? I know I do! Here we teach you how to anticipate and react swiftly to maximise your effectiveness in doubles play.

Sunday

Fed up with getting lobbed or mishitting your overheads? Fear not! In this session, we’ll refine your overhead technique to boost your confidence and sharpen your decision-making skills. By the end, you’ll be putting away overheads with precision rather than relying on power.

Now it’s time to put everything you’ve learned into practice – why not give the coaches a run for their money!
