4* The Lensbury

These are the arrival and departure days for our Junior Residential Camp at The Lensbury.

Arrival: We can arrange an airport transfer for your child, with our team greeting them at the airport. Alternatively, they can meet us at the hotel, but please have their arrival between 14:00 and 18:00 as we will be having our Welcome Meeting and Dinner from 18:30.

Departure: For those who have booked a transfer with their package, the Active Away team will handle all arrangements. If you haven’t booked a transfer, please ensure you collect your belongings and depart before 11:00.

Optional: Stay on for a London day trip if you wish!

08:00 – 09:00: Start the day off well by joining the coaches for breakfast at the hotel.

09:30 – 12:00: In this session, we will be working on Tennis -Stroke Development, focusing on perfecting the fundamentals of tennis strokes with the aim of building a strong foundation for consistent performance and improved accuracy on the court.

12:00 – 13:30: It’s time for Lunch! We will be dining at The Lensbury.

13:30 – 14:30: Children can choose between engaging English language lessons tailored to enhance communication skills or join interactive workshops focusing on various sport topics.

14:30 – 17:00: Let’s Get Moving in this dynamic tennis session which emphasizes movement and agility on the court.

18:30: Tonight we will be dining at The Lensbury. This is a great time for children to relax and socialise with fellow players and coaches in a comfortable and friendly setting.

19:30 – 20:30: Join us for an exciting Quiz Night filled with fun and friendly competition.

08:00 – 09:00: Time for an energy recharge, so join the coaches for breakfast at the hotel.

09:30 – 12:00: Move and Compete Tennis Session is all about integrating movement with competitive play. Players will focus on enhancing their on-court mobility through dynamic drills designed to improve footwork, speed, and agility.

12:00 – 13:30: Lunch today will be served at The Lensbury.

13:30 – 14:30: During this hour, children can choose between English Language Lessons or the Fitness option, which focuses on conditioning exercises that complement tennis training.

14:30 – 17:00: Join us back on court for our Net Mastery Tennis Session. Here we will focus on volley techniques, net positioning, and strategic shot placement.

18:30: Enjoy an evening dining at The Lensbury, where you’ll experience a menu featuring a variety of delicious, kid-friendly dishes!

19:30 – 20:30: Opt for a refreshing swim in The Lensbury’s indoor pool or join in on lively park games, which may include activities like football, rounders, or relay races.

09:30 – 12:00: Mastering The First 3 Shots that set the tone for every rally: the serve, the return, and the first groundstroke.

14:30 – 17:00: This session focuses on the unique skills and strategies essential for successful doubles play. Players will engage in a variety of drills designed to enhance teamwork, communication, and court coverage.

19:30 – 20:30: Opt for a refreshing swim in The Lensbury’s indoor pool or join in on lively park games, which may include activities like football, rounders, or relay races.

13:30 – 14:30: During this hour, children can choose between English Language Lessons or the Fitness option, which focuses on conditioning exercises that complement tennis training.

14:30 – 17:00: Conditioned Points Tennis Session focuses on playing points with specific conditions to enhance strategic thinking and adaptability.

18:30: Dinner at The Lensbury.

19:30 – 20:30: Join us for an adventurous evening on the water with a canoeing session designed to offer fun and relaxation.

09:30 – 11:30: Bullseye Battle – Here we focus on a dynamic and engaging team competition designed to improve precision and strategy.

11:30 – 13:00: Following the Bullseye Battle, this session shifts focus to team-based doubles play, emphasizing strategy and cooperative skills.

13:00 – 14:30: Lunch at The Lensbury.

14:30 – 17:00: Fun Team Competition offering a blend of singles and doubles matches.

17:00 – 17:30: Coach Exhibition Match – now it’s the children’s turn to heckle at the coaching team and give them pointers on their tennis skills!

17:30 – 18:00: Join us for our round-up Presentation, where we fully welcome all players into our Active Away Family, with some prizes on offer for the best moments of the week. It’s full of smiles & laughter – a lovely way to round off an unforgettable week of Tennis in London!
