Pre-Booking

Where are your Ski Holidays located?

We host our Ski Holidays within the village of Alagna Valsesia which is in the heart of Monterosa, Italy.

How do I view your Ski Holiday location?

What skill level is required?

This holiday is designed for intermediate to advanced skiers. If you’re comfortable skiing blue and red runs, this trip is perfect for you.

What’s included in the package?

Your booking includes accommodation on a B&B board basis, ski pass, and guided group sessions led by Active Away.

Can I rent ski equipment?

Yes, equipment rental is available on-site at the hotel. We can assist with securing rentals if required.

Can the single supplement be removed after booking?

The single supplement can be removed from your booking but only if you decide to share a room with someone.

Can I share a room with someone who I don't know?

We don’t offer the option to share a room with someone you don’t already know.

How fit/athletic do I need to be to join a ski holiday?

You don’t have to ski everyday if you don’t want to! We have all levels of fitness on our holidays – from 35 – 80 year olds. We would recommend a basic level of fitness to be able to ski.

Can I pay my balance in monthly instalment?

We operate on the following payment terms:

35% Deposit at the time of Booking

Balance Payment 12 Weeks before Travel

What is your cancellation policy?

At Active Away, we genuinely care about our guests and are committed to providing the best support possible.

Are flights included?

Flights are not included in our package. However, both the ski pass and accommodation are included, and you can add airport transfers for an additional cost.

Are airport transfers included?

They are not included within our base package, but can be added upon booking. You can read more about Airport Transfers here.

What is the Single Occupancy Supplement?

The Single Occupancy Supplement needs to be added to your booking if you are staying in a room on your own.

a) Why do I have to pay the Single Occupancy Supplement? Our pricing is based on 2 sharing a room and all prices displayed on our website are ‘Per Person.’

b) Can someone else share my room if I’ve paid for the Single Occupancy of it? No. We are charged different rates for the number of people in the room. A second person must pay either the full price or the non-playing price.

c) Do you make any margin on the Single Occupancy Supplement? No, we actually even pass any early booking discount we get with hotels to our guests. We do our best to negotiate the best prices possible for Single Occupancy as we appreciate this is a prohibitive booking factor.

Am I financially protected?

Yes, your holiday is protected through the Package Travel Regulations if your booking has more than 1 part – for example: Accommodation & Ski.

How do I apply my discount code?

You can only use 1 Discount Code per Ski Holiday.

Will I feel left out/lonely if I join on my own?

Without a doubt no! Socialising is one of our biggest USPs and one of the main reasons we have so many repeat customers. Many of our clients come alone and meet friends for life.

Off the slopes, we love to create lasting memories by dining together and enjoying the evening entertainment.

How do I add extra nights onto my holiday?

To add extra nights onto your holiday, please email our back-office team here and we’ll provide you with quotes and availability.

How long does it take for my booking to be confirmed?

We aim to confirm all bookings within 24 to 48 hours of your initial reservation.

Can I bring a non-skiing partner or family member?

Absolutely, the more the merrier! Non-skiers are welcome and can enjoy the hotel’s spa facilities, scenic walks, and local excursions.

Are there any additional costs I should be made aware of?

Additional costs may apply depending on the hotel you’re staying at, the board basis of that hotel and if you choose to join the group at one of the a la carte restaurants.

What are the accommodation options?

We stay at the 4-star Hotel Cristallo, which offers spacious rooms, a spa, and modern amenities to ensure a comfortable stay.

How large are the group sizes?

We keep our group sizes small to ensure personalised guidance and a cohesive experience on the slopes. We take up to 12 guests per trip.

Can you recommend/help me with flights?

I have a dietary requirement, do I need to let you know?

While the resorts we partner with are able to accommodate all dietary requirements, please inform us here so that our team can make a note of this on your booking. This will ensure that your host is aware upon your arrival.

My flights have changed and I have a transfer booked with you, how do I let you know?

Don’t worry – just complete this form with your new Transfer Information and we’ll sort everything out for you.

What's the itinerary like?

Each day includes a mix of guided skiing, free time to explore the resort, and evening meals with excellent company. You can view a typical itinerary here.

How long is the transfer from Milan Malpensa Airport to the resort?

The transfer from Milan Malpensa Airport to Hotel Cristallo is 1 hour 45 minutes.

Do I need to pre-order for the evening meals?

At some resorts, we will need to pre-order as a group to ensure the evening meals run smoothly. To pre-order, please click here.

I don't feel like dining with the group tonight, can I eat separately?

Of course – that’s no problem at all! Just let your host know that you will be doing your own thing tonight.

How do I find out my transfer departure time?

Your host will share the transfer list in the group chat a couple of days before departure, and you’ll also receive an email. If you’d like the information sooner, feel free to ask your host.

How do I give my feedback?

I'd like to try a different restaurant tonight instead of dining with the group. How can I go about booking this?

If you’d like to try a different restaurant than the group, please let your host know, and they’ll handle the reservation for you.

Alternatively, you can speak to reception, and they’ll be happy to assist as well.
